NBA Scout Reveals Lakers’ Plans for Bronny James in The NBA Draft

The Pelicans could very well decide the Lakers fate in the 2024 NBA Draft but if they do get a chance, LA are definitely not passing up on the opportunity to draft LeBron’s son Bronny James, an NBA scout says.

“I think Bronny will go in the draft because of who he is, and some team will really think LeBron will come if they draft him,” the scout told HoopsHype. “If the Lakers get a pick, they won’t pass on him. He’s a decent player. He’s better than some guys who may get picked ahead of him. He’s solid, not spectacular. He knows how to play. He can handle the ball well enough. If you leave him alone, he’ll drill a three. He reminds me of Austin Rivers as a player, and he’s stayed in the league for over a decade.”

There were big question marks around Bronny’s basketball future, since he suffered a cardiac arrest in late July during practice at USC.

Though a family rep has since then stressed that he is making his return to the court very soon and is progressing well in his recovery.

Before that though, he was a strong prospect and earlier this year was touted as a top ten pick for 2024.

“Bronny James has a strong frame and athleticism with the ability to hit deep three-pointers,” HoopsHype said. “There’s intrigue from NBA executives if he can become more of a point guard looking ahead to the next level, thanks to his fundamentally sound IQ and continuous improvement each season. Defensively, he’s engaged throughout the game and is a physical on-ball defender and creates steals as an off-ball defender.”

Of course, franchises are aware that if they do draft Bronny, there is a chance that LeBron would join him on that team in order to play with his son.

No doubt the 2024 Draft will be one full of hype because of Bronny alone.
