Draymond Green wasn’t happy with how the referees differed in their calls between the Warriors and Grizzlies.
Firstly, Green had a little moment with Grizz rookie Zach Edey during Golden State’s 121-113 win at Chase Center, which saw him get a Flagrant Foul Penalty 1 with an ensuing technical.
Draymond was asked about Edey’s skillset after the game and as usual was candid as hell.
“He play in the NBA,” Green told reporters. “He play in the NBA. You think he good? “There it is, then.”
Green has previously called Edey a “emotional” and dissed him pretty hard on his podcast. Unsurprisingly, this also came after a foul incident on the court in November.
On top of the latest Edey drama, Draymond had plenty to say about the way the refs treated him and his teammates.
“No,” Green said when asked if he received an explanation about his technical. “But it’s Draymond Green, that’s why it’s a flagrant foul. It’s funny. You know what’s ironic? [Jonathan Kuminga], clean elbow to the head, boom, I said, ‘Wow, that’s a review.’ I said, ‘If I blow on someone, y’all review it.’”
During the game, the four-time champ shot a three and said “boom” in the direction of the officiating crew and what happened next hardly surprised him.
“I had no surprise,” Green said. “I got a tech for saying, ‘Boom.’ I say ‘boom’ every time I make a three. I got a tech for saying boom.’ When did [the refs] become so above the law that you can’t say ‘boom?’
No doubt the referees will continue in their efforts to keep Green quiet and well-behaved on the court, considering he’s been banned from the league over half a dozen times.
And no doubt he will keep calling it out. What fun!
