LeBron James very publicly came to the defense of his son Bronny on Monday in a since deleted post and NBA fans and media personalities are roasting him for it.

LeBron took issue with the reporting of Bronny’s future in the NBA, particularly around the NBA Draft.

“Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball,” James said in a since-deleted post on X. “The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!

“And to all the other kids out there striving to be great just keep your head down, blinders on and keep grinding. These Mock Drafts doesn’t matter one bit! I promise you! Only the WORK MATTERS!! Let’s talk REAL BASKETBALL.”

Because of the reaction online, LeBron took the posts down.

In response to LeBron’s deleted tweet, ESPN’s Stephen A Smith called out James on the First Take.

Smith thinks that LeBron has no one to blame but himself for the extra pressure that’s on Bronny.

“This is all his fault,” Smith said. “All of it… When we get to Bronny James, that kid has done nothing but work hard… Any attention that he’s warranted has been because of his daddy. ‘I want to play with my son. I want to stay here until my son gets to the NBA’… When you’re LeBron James, and you’ve put the word out that you want to be with him, you put the word out that you want to play with him, you put the word out that you would be willing to go to any NBA team that picks him up.”

NBA fans were also quick to call out LeBron for his deleted post.
