Patrick Beverley is hyped to be joining his hometown Chicago Bulls and is promising to make an instant impact.
“I’m going to be on Zach LaVine ass,” Beverley said on The Pat Bev Podcast. “I’m going to give him all the energy he need – destroy people. Me and DeMar DeRozan, we good. I got a popping five, [Nikola] Vucevic. I’m excited man. I’m really excited.”
Beverley is known for his over the top displays on the court, like when he made fun of Damian Lillard’s ‘Dame Time’ move, or when he grabbed a photographer’s camera to show the refs they had made the wrong call. But the 11-season veteran says he is definitely someone you want on your team.

“It’s hard to kind of judge me from all the outside stuff,” Beverley said. “A lot of people think what I do is putting on a lot of antics and all that extra sh*t. When in reality — when I’m on your team and I’m your teammate and I’m your player and you’re my coach — you get a different vibe. You’re like, ‘Man, this is motherf**er, he’ll do anything for the team.”
Beverley is likely to step in as the starting point guard to replace the second-year Ayo Dosunmu, but beyond that, he will be providing a much needed spark to an uninspired Chicago outfit who are 11th seed in the East.
“I impact winning,” Beverley said when asked what he will bring to the team. “I’m shooting 40 [percent from three-point range]. Actually playing some of my best basketball. You can pull up my numbers. My numbers right now are better my numbers in Minnesota was last season.”
