Brooklyn Nets Chasing One More Big Piece But Asking Price Insanely High

The Brooklyn Nets want John Collins, as reported by Shams Charania last month.

But according to a new report, they’ll have their work cut out getting him.

The Hawks want a “big-time return for Collins” and “something in that neighborhood” of what the Utah Jazz received when they traded Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, according to an Eastern Conference executive who spoke to Heavy Sports.

Mitchell was traded to Cleveland for three first-round picks and two pick swaps, Collin Sexton and All-Star candidate Lauri Markkanen.

Gobert was traded to Minnesota for four first-round picks and one pick swap.

Collins is averaging 13.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game during the 2022-23 campaign.

He’s had to adjust to a new role this season, with Dejounte Murray and De’Andre Hunter demanding more of the ball.
