Lakers Injury Update – Anthony Davis, Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt & More

Injury Lakers

The Lakers have struggled to find consistency this season and their injury report certainly isn’t doing the franchise any favors.

LA will be without power forward Jarred Vanderbilt for at least the next few weeks after he suffered a foot injury, the team announced.

“Jarred Vanderbilt has been diagnosed with a right mid-foot sprain. He will be re-evaluated by team doctors in approximately 3-4 weeks,” The Lakers announced on socials on February 5.

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham spoke about Vanderbilt’s injury and the hard road ahead for the franchise without him.

Vanderbilt’s injury occurred in the Lakers’ win over the Celtics on Feb. 1, a game where Vanderbilt recorded ten points and seven rebounds in 16 minutes.

“It’s like, laughing, but it’s not a joking matter,” Ham said on Vanderbilt’s injury, per The Athletic. “It’s been the story of our season.”

In more positive news for the Lakers, Gabe Vincent (whose season has been derailed with a knee injury) looks to be on track for a return.

Though his return could be in just in time for the purple and gold to trade him away, Yahoo Sports Jake Fischer reports.

“Lakers guard Gabe Vincent, who’s become included in Los Angeles’ outgoing trade conversations, sources said, appears on track to return by early March. Vincent underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee during the final days of December. He was given an 8-10 week recovery period and has so far been recuperating on schedule, sources said.”

The team’s superstars, Anthony Davis and LeBron James continue to appear on the injury report, but both appear to available to play Charlotte.
