Tyler Herro has plenty happening away from basketball following his blockbuster move to Milwaukee.
The Bucks guard is involved in a custody battle with his former girlfriend Katya Henry after the couple split earlier this month, according to TMZ.
Herro and Henry share two children, daughter Zya, born in 2021, and son Harlem, born in 2023.
Herro initially went to court seeking a formal parenting schedule and asking a judge to determine how much he should pay in child support. The 26-year-old claimed he had already been voluntarily providing Henry with financial support since she gave birth, according to TMZ.
Herro later dismissed his case, but Henry filed her own action seeking primary custody of their children. She claimed she has served as their primary caregiver and has been responsible for most of the major decisions involving them.
Henry’s filing also raised concerns over Herro’s alleged past behavior, although she did not detail those allegations.
She “intentionally omitted” information concerning Herro’s “historical conduct” out of respect for the Bucks guard, according to TMZ.
Henry also argued that “safeguards and parameters should be implemented on a temporary and permanent basis in order to ensure the safety and well-being” of their two children.
The case remains ongoing.
Herro and Henry first connected through social media during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 before welcoming Zya the following year. Their relationship previously faced public scrutiny in 2022 when Henry appeared to accuse Herro of being unfaithful.
“If you cheat on someone willing to do anything for you, you cheated yourself out of loyalty,” Henry wrote in a since-deleted social media post, according to Yahoo.
The breakup comes only months after another major change in Herro’s life.
Miami traded Herro to his hometown Bucks in June as part of the blockbuster deal that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Heat.
Herro made his feelings about the move clear shortly afterward.
“Back to the motherf–king crib, dog. Y’all did lost your motherf–king mind,” Herro said on his YouTube channel.
Now, as he prepares for his first season back in Wisconsin, Herro also has an ongoing custody dispute to deal with away from the court.
