Victor Wembanyama Secures Signature Nike Shoe

Wembanyama (30)

Victor Wembanyama has reportedly agreed to a new long-term contract extension with Nike that will include his own signature sneaker line, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but sources described the partnership as “long term.”

The new deal arrives at a milestone point in Wembanyama’s career. Just days earlier, the22-year-old signed a five-year, $252 million maximum rookie extension with the Spurs after becoming eligible to negotiate following San Antonio’s elimination in the NBA Finals by the New York Knicks.

A signature shoe is another major achievement for one of the NBA’s brightest young stars, whose original agreement with Nike had been due to expire in October. Wembanyama has also expanded his profile beyond basketball, serving as a Louis Vuitton ambassador since 2024.

The French phenom is coming off the best season of his career. He averaged career highs of 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists across 64 games while leading the NBA with 3.08 blocks per contest.

His dominant campaign earned him a unanimous NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, making him the youngest player in league history to receive the honor. Wembanyama was also selected to his second consecutive All-Star Game and became a starter for the first time, joining George Gervin, Alvin Robertson, David Robinson, Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard as the only Spurs players to start an All-Star Game.

Wembanyama’s all-around production also placed him in elite company. He became just the seventh player in NBA history to average at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks over an entire season. He also recorded 42 games with at least 10 rebounds, finished with 42 double-doubles and added a triple-double.
