Insider Proposes Wild Anthony Davis Trade Between Warriors and Lakers

Bill Simmons has proposed a very interesting trade that would be sure to shake up the league, but would it actually ever happen?

In the wake of Anthony Davis and LeBron James reportedly “growing concerned” with the Lakers’ ability to significantly improve their roster, this is what he has laid out:

Golden State Warriors receive: Anthony Davis

Los Angeles Lakers receive: Draymond Green, Dennis Schröder, Jonathan Kuminga, Trayce Jackson-Davis, 2025 first-round pick, 2027 first-round pick, 2029 pick swap

“It’s a pretty good trade,” Simmons said on his podcast. “The [Lakers] are getting Draymond, Schröder, Kuminga. They get to roll the dice on Jackson-Davis. And if you’re the Warriors, you still have enough left, and you’re going to build around Davis and Curry going down the stretch, and you could probably get creative with some other moves. It’s kind of fun.”

He further explained, “If you’re the Warriors, you still have enough left (after the trade), and you’re gonna build around Davis and Curry going down the stretch, and you could probably get creative with some other moves.

“Draymond would get to live in Los Angeles and play with LeBron. Draymond might be like, ‘This sounds great. I’ve always wanted to be on the Lakers. Let’s do it.’”

For either of these teams to actually go ahead with a trade like this would be seriously wild.

But, it would give the Warriors a chance to win a chip with Steph Curry and AD, while the Lakers get a huge haul of picks for the future and some handy players that could help to win a chip sooner rather than later before Bron retires.

But, betting the house on an ageing Davis could be risky for the Dubs.

If they are willing to mortgage their entire future on him, then sure, it could work. But he is 31 years old and does have a propensity to get injured.
