NBA Insider Recalls Wild Draymond Green ‘Spying’ Story

Green

NBA insider Chris Haynes has recalled a hilarious story about how Draymond Green wouldn’t let him interview any Warriors players and accused him of spying.

Haynes didn’t reveal exactly when this happened, but it would likely have been around the 2015-2018 mark, when the Warriors and Cavs were locked into NBA Finals battles for four straight seasons.

“I go into the locker room for the first time with the Warriors,” Haynes said on Jefe Island podcast. “Draymond was like, ‘I don’t trust you bro.’ I thought he was playing. He said, ‘I don’t trust you bro.’ [I asked,] ‘What do you mean, you don’t trust me?’ He said, ‘You a Cavs spy. LeBron [James] them sent you over here to spy on us. We ain’t messing with y’all, & Imma make sure nobody talk with you.’ He was dead serious, bro,” Haynes recalled.

“I’m just a reporter bro. I don’t have no rude entrance.”

During those epic years, the Warriors won the championship in 2015, 2017 and 2018, while the Cavs got their only title in 2016, thanks to LeBron James.

Green and LeBron were definitely not friends on the court in those days.

However, since 2019, the pair have struck up a a good friendship.

This was around the same time Draymond signed with Klutch Sports, the same agency James is signed to and his friend Rich Paul, owns.

Just last night, the pair were hanging out together.

James uploaded a series of photos tagging Paul, Maverick Carter, and Green, with the Instagram story was captioned, “Was one of those nights @money23green.”

It was quickly shared by Carter who added his own caption, “@money23green would NOT stop pulling out the major hits.”

Then James added, “He should be in jail for what he did.”

It would hardly be surprising to see Draymond end up on the Lakers before his career is over, considering the bromance he has with LeBron.
