Kevin Durant Responds to Anthony Edwards’ Wild Trash Talk

There was an epic intergenerational moment in the Timberwolves-Suns game when Anthony Edwards started schooling and trash talking his childhood hero Kevin Durant.

After he helped the Wolves to a 1-0 series lead with a 120-95 win, Edwards said his moment with KD on the court was “probably one of the best feelings ever in my whole life, for sure.”

The viral moment of Ant chirping at Durant came in the third quarter, where he outscored KD 18-10.

Durant was asked about the exchange postgame.

“It’s just basketball. Not even playoffs, it’s just hoop,” Durant said. “You get hot, you make shots, make tough shots, you’re gonna feel excited about yourself. It’s on me to keep coming back and showing him a tough look.”

KD added, “He got it going. He made some tough ones. You just got to live with it and be better next game.”

22-year-old Edwards finished the night with 33 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals, while 35-year-old Durant had 31 points and seven rebounds.

But Edwards ism’t getting ahead of himself just yet.

“It’s going to be hard to beat these guys,” Edwards said. “It’s just one game. They’re going to be ready to go the next time we play them.”

Although Durant had a solid score, his running mate Devin Booker scored only 18 points and didn’t much of an impact when he was on the floor.

Durant says that he thinks Booker will “have a great Game 2”.

Booker admitted things didn’t go his way on Saturday.

“We all just need to adjust to the playoff physicality,” Booker said. “They’re being ultra-physical with me, and then I had three early fouls and (went) to the bench. Then it was just trying to find a rhythm from there.”

Phoenix will definitely need Booker to step up against a red-hot Minnesota side if they want to even up the series.
