Rich Paul Addresses Bronny James NBA Draft Rumors

Draft Bronny

LeBron and Bronny James’ agent Rich Paul has weighed in on the Bronny draft situation, amid the rumors going around about James’ eldest son.

Bronny is faced with the decision of entering the 2024 NBA Draft, or giving himself another year to develop in a college team.

In ESPN’s recent mock draft, Bronny was moved from the 2024 to the 2025 Draft Class, which LeBron didn’t like one bit.

The USC freshman guard is expected to weigh his entry into the 2024 NBA draft based on specific team interest, rather than his draft position, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul shared with ESPN on Saturday.

“I don’t value a young player getting into the lottery as much as I do getting him on the right team in the right developmental situation,” Paul told ESPN.

Paul went on to explain that the ‘right team’ isn’t necessarily the one with LeBron on it, but did say that LeBron would be “head over heels excited if that were to happen organically”.

“LeBron wants Bronny to be his own man,” Paul added.

For the Trojans, Bronny is currently averaging five points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists a game on 37 percent shooting coming off the bench.

Various sources around the league, including those speaking to NBC Sports, think that the 19-year-old would be wise to stay in college for another year.

“League sources familiar with his game speaking to NBC Sports like Bronny’s potential athletically, his defense and his work ethic — he is a grinder, not someone coming in expecting his name to carry him — but think he could benefit from more time in college (especially considering the cardiac episode he had last summer),” the report said.

Ultimately, the decision is up to Paul, LeBron and Bronny himself. Emotions are clearly running high about the whole situation.
