Scottie Pippen has taken to Instagram after his ex-wife Larsa Pippen reportedly split with Michael Jordan’s son Marcus, and his post has attracted a whole lot of attention.
Not long after news broke of Larsa and Marcus’ breakup, Pippen dropped a post promoting his bourbon brand ‘Digits’. But many interpreted his particular choice of words and imagery to be connected with the breakup.
“You gotta boss up quietly, they already don’t like you,” Pippen wrote. “Silence is the strategy, success is the result.”
The post features an animation of Pippen smoking a cigar with Marvin Gaye’s ‘Trouble Man’ playing in the background.

And while this could all be one big coincidence, the nature of the post and the timing of it is pretty interesting to say the least.
The fact that Jordan’s son was dating Pippen’s ex-wife was always going to be big news. But making matters worse was the tension between the two former Bulls teammates in recent years.
In 2011 Pippen made critical comments about Jordan in his memoir titled ‘Unguarded’. In the book, Pippen expressed feelings of being underappreciated and undervalued during his time with the Chicago Bulls.
He touched on moments like the infamous ‘Flu Game’ in the 1997 NBA Finals, where he felt Jordan didn’t give him enough credit for playing through injuries.
Pippen also criticized Jordan’s documentary ‘The Last Dance’, claiming it was a one-sided representation that didn’t accurately reflect the dynamics of their relationship.
