With things not panning out like they’d hoped, many are wondering if the Golden State Warriors need to make a trade, but their head coach Steve Kerr is keeping the faith.
Turnovers are one of the team’s biggest issues and in last week’s game against OKC, the team committed a total of 29 TO’s.
Golden State have gone 14 games without winning the turnover battle and with players like Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson continuing the underperform, the possibility of a trade is on people’s minds.
Steph Curry recently told reporters that he’s sick of talking about the Warriors’ struggles, but Kerr is still staying positive and doesn’t believe a trade will solve anything.
“I told the team we’re getting big leads on the road against good teams; that’s a good sign,” Kerr said. “So, it’s not like we can’t compete and we’re all sitting here like ‘this team’s not good enough’ or ‘we got to make trades.’ None of that. We’re good.
“But we’ve got to improve in these areas. And that’s on us as coaches to give [players] an opportunity to do that. And then it’s on [players] to execute that once we figure everything out. And I’m very confident that’s all going to happen.”
With a chance to redeem themselves against the Suns coming up, Kerr decided to hold a “college practice” at Grand Canyon College before the matchup.
The Dubs are 0-2 against the Suns this season and on both occasions, Phoenix have been without All-Star guard Bradley Beal.
Beal is set to make his return on Tuesday against the Warriors.
After missing a game against OKC due to illness, former Suns veteran Chris Paul is expected to reprise a 20-30 minute role against Phoenix on Tuesday.
He recorded six points and six assists in their matchup on November 22.
