Kawhi Leonard famously shows very little emotion, but even he is getting frustrated by the Clippers’ terrible run of form, as pointed out by NBA insider Justin Russo after the Clippers lost to the struggling Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.
“Leonard is growing increasingly frustrated out there and took a while to come back to the bench following the timeout,” Russo wrote on X.
“Leonard and Ivica Zubac had an interaction on the floor and then on the bench, both pointing to places.”
After the Clippers’ previous loss, a demoralising 144-126 beatdown against the Dallas Mavericks, Leonard tried to explain what was going on.
“Obviously like I said, we have four guys on the floor that are used to having a ball, used to finding a rhythm just by feeling and touching it all game,” he said.
“You could see it, you kind of seen it with Luka [Doncic] and Kyrie [Irving] last year. They was trying to figure it out. But like I said, just playing more, you’ll start to figure out, okay, this guy needs this spot here or he’s, he got it going, let me buy in into another part of the game where I can make us win.”
The Clippers are now 11th in the Western Conference with a 3-6 record, off the back of a five-game losing streak.
Harden is averaging just 13.5 points and 4.3 assists per game since making the move to LA.
