Markieff Morris Issues Warning to Nikola Jokic on Cheap Shot

Morris Jokic

Markieff Morris is holding a grudge about what happened on the court against Nikola Jokic during the 2021 season.

Morris was playing for Miami at the time, who were facing Denver on their home court.

The forward was attempting to stop play and take a foul as Jokic had the ball and was dribbling up the court.

He ran into Jokic and made contact with the big man’s ribs.

Jokic clearly didn’t take too kindly to it because as Morris walked away from the foul, Jokic came up behind him and aggressively shoved him in the back, which knocked him to the ground.

The shove saw Morris miss a significant time away from the court and it’s not something he’ll soon be forgetting.

The now Dallas forward has vowed that Jokic will get his just deserts.

“Catching me off guard, he really ain’t do sh*t, “Morris told Matt Barnes on Showtime’s All The Smoke podcast. “But you know, at the time, I was a little off. It was more so with the Miami Heat, they was just trying to protect me from, you know, against me from myself. But I was cleared to play like two weeks after that, they just held me out. It really wasn’t one of those things where I was injured or in pain or anything like that…

“It was a sucker shot. But he gonna get his though. Don’t trip.”

The Serbian superstar was suspended for one match for the shove.

That season and the following 2022 season, Jokic won back-to-back MVP awards.

Plus, got his own special kind of three-peat when he won the 2023 NBA Finals MVP award.

Although he doesn’t have much of a history of lashing out at other players, the big man can get feisty at times if you rub him the wrong way.

Just ask Suns owner Mat Ishbia, who had an altercation with Jokic just last season.
