Draymond Green Thinks LeBron’s New Role on Lakers is ‘Weird’

The Lakers won 117-112 against the Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals and Draymond Green had some thoughts about LeBron’s playing style.

Green said he was surprised about how much LeBron was playing off the ball against his team in Game 1.

“LeBron is playing a totally different style, a totally different game than we’ve ever seen him play before,” Green said on his podcast. “And it’s interesting figuring it out. You’re not used to seeing LeBron off the ball so much. And so, I thought that was interesting and something that we’ll have to adjust to.

“It’s just not your typical LeBron running the show, which is a bit weird.”

Despite less playmaking, James still finished the night with 24 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as well as a block on 37.5 percent shooting from the field.

The development of Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell on offense has proved a deadly weapon for the purple and gold because teams can’t now just focus on slowing down LeBron on defense.

Russell recorded 19 points on 9-19 shooting and had six assists. Anthony Davis was also immense, as he grabbed 30 points and 23 rebounds.

The way the Lakers have been able to rebuild after the trade deadline is a problem for Golden State but Green also acknowledged there were faults on his side too.

“I played like sh*t. I am disgusted with myself right now,” Green said.

Green has a chance to redeem himself in Game 2 on Thursday, May 4th at 6:00PM ET when the Lakers play the Warriors on their home court.
