The Lakers pushing for a playoff spot without LeBron James could now become a reality.
He was initially expected to be sidelined for three weeks with a right foot tendon injury but the latest report from Shams Charania is a Lakers fan’s worst fear.
“Yes, they need LeBron James back. We don’t know when that will be,” Charania said on FanDuel TV.
“Three-week evaluation, re-evaluation for him, and even after that, I don’t know if the Lakers think he’s gonna be back in three weeks. I don’t think it’ll be just the three weeks — likely beyond that. And so, you put yourself in a position where you hope that he’s back right before the playoffs or he gets back for the play-in.”
LA is currently 11th in the West and will be pushing for that 10th spot to make the play-in tournament.
They are currently tied with the 10th placed Jazz, and fittingly, LA’s last game of the regular season is against Utah.
