Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis erupted for massive games in LeBron James’ absence on Tuesday night as the Lakers closed out the Spurs 125-121 in overtime.
Westbrook finished with 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, while Davis had 35 points, 17 rebounds and four assists.
Here’s how NBA Twitter reacted:

AD goes down in severe pain holding his knee and the first play the Lakers run after he gets up is asking him to jump 45 feet in the air to finish an alley-oop. genius.

Some nba guys go down like they have been shot! Stay down till they get some attention…..a few hugs and concerns and then they are ok to play again normally. Aussies don’t do that shit. 💯

dont worry Lakers fans, Kent Bazemore is at the scorer’s table.

Think tonight was one of the best case arguments for why you go out and get Russ if you’re the Lakers. His ability to just win you a game when LeBron is out through sheer force of will is very useful in the regular season.

No LeBron, and AD & Russ combine for 68-27-12. That was the plan when they acquired Russ… to be able to survive the non-LeBron games.
It wasn’t pretty, and it shouldn’t have taken OT vs the Spurs, but it’s something for LA to build on.
