Rajon Rondo and the Atlanta Hawks have an unwanted headache on their hands just days from the new season tipping, with news emerging today that a woman has filed a lawsuit against the guard and his girlfriend. The allegations centre around a ‘heated parking lot dispute’ which occurred in July. The woman, Toktam Jorshari, is suing Rondo for “assault and battery, and infliction of emotional distress and conspiracy.” Interestingly, she is looking for more than $1 million in damages and compensation. According to Jorshari, Rondo allegedly took his car, and parked in a disabled spot. She had parked next to him to unload some objects from her car, impeding Rondo’s side door. She says that Rondo took offense, asking her ‘B–ch, why do you think you can park here?,’ before extending an arm and ‘pushing and shoving her against the vehicle.’The allegation goes on to claim that Rondo’s girlfriend then ‘“proceeded to repeatedly physically attack her by striking her in the area of her head and upper body.” Jorshari says she has security footage of the attack. Rondo’s defence attorney has said in regard to the claim:“The case is meritless,” Baute said. “I have seen the video tape. Mr. Rondo was polite throughout the encounter, the claimant was not wearing a mask and was unstable and rude. We look forward to defending the case and winning.”
