The Washington Wizards have made a couple of underrated signings and contract extensions in recent days – and it appears as though the star back-court of John Wall and Bradley Beal will start the season together in red, white, and blue, after Wizards GM Tommy Sheppard rubbished reports that the former wanted out of D.C.
“No, he [Wall] didn’t request [a trade],” Sheppard said.
“John and I talk pretty much once every other day. We have always been on the same page, same wavelength. Same with Bradley [Beal].”
“There’s no issues with John and I. There’s no issues with John and the Wizards. There’s no issue with anybody,” Sheppard said.
Wall has been out of the game for two years with injuries, and in his absence, Beal stepped up last season – averaging more than 30ppg.
Continuing, Sheppard touched on how excited he was to see Wall back in the gym, and fully healthy, and the opportunity for the two stars to start pulling the strings together once again.
“He’s [Wall] gotten his explosiveness back,” Sheppard said.
“He’s very comfortable [shooting the] 3 now and that is something that I think will be a huge weapon for us moving forward.”
“[Beal and Wall] both look forward to playing together. That is where we are at and that is where we move on to,” Sheppard finished.
