The Marcus Morris and Luka Doncic beef has gone to another level, with the Clippers swingman leaving a smackdown on a Bleacher Report post detailing the second of two heated incidents between the pair.
In game five of their series, Morris stepped on Doncic’s bad ankle. There was some conjecture about the play, and Doncic played the bigger man – saying he thought there was nothing in it.
But then game six came around, and Morris doubled down – chopping Doncic’s head from behind as the Mavericks guard drove to the rim.
Speaking on that incident, Doncic had this to say.
“It was a terrible play. What can I say? It’s two games in a row he did something like that,” Doncic noted.
“I really hoped the first game it wasn’t on purpose, but looking back on the foul this game, you know what I think. I don’t want to deal with that kind of player — just move on.”
Bleacher Report quoted Doncic, posting this on their socials:
Morris then piped up – commenting on the Instagram post:
“Cry me a river. Clips in 6.”
It’s big talk from a team widely tipped to contest for a championship this season. They had to fight tooth and nail to topple the shorthanded Mavericks, and Doncic was outstanding for the majority of the series despite his lame ankle.
