Kevin Durant is not your average NBA player off the court. He makes a point of trolling and calling out fans on social media and maybe that’s because he spends more time online than your usual NBA player.
The future basketball Hall of Famer admitted in a recent interview that some of his best friends are just people he met through gaming and he’s stayed in touch with over the years.
“They hung out with me in my house,” Durant said, via Boardroom. “They been friends with me for damn near 10 years now. They, like one of my best friends I met on the game. And it’s like I trust this dude with anything,” Durant said in an interview with “Boardroom.”“Like, seriously. We hung out plenty of times, so I’m like, let me see what this dude really about. Peeping him the whole time.”
KD added, “It’s a group of us. I’m just like, because I’m sitting down talking to this dude every day on the game. I find myself talking to this dude every day for months. I’m like, let me, I gotta chill with y’all. It’s five of them. And I chilled and I’m just like, oh, these some solid dudes, man. Just became friends. My mans. I call right now, he gonna pick the phone. They got nine to five. And I’m like, how y’all got so much time to play the game with me? My job is from nine to eleven in the summer. I go to work, and I don’t have to do that. I just go do that because I love to do it.”
“How y’all got so much time to play the game? And just like, man, this my safe haven for real. This what I do to decompress. Yeah. It’s ten of us in a party. We competitively playing the game,” he added.
Such a wholesome admission from someone who appears to be so defensive at times online.
