Carmelo Anthony Says Report That Jordan Brand Is Ending His Shoe Line Is ‘False News’

Just as Carmelo Anthony’s time with the Oklahoma City Thunder is beginning, his years of releasing signature Jordan Brand shoes is reportedly ending.

Citing industry sources, ESPN’s Nick DePaula says Jordan Brand is halting the Melo shoe series after 13 models, which would make last season’s Melo M13 shoe the last of the line.

But when he was asked to address the matter this week, Anthony effectively told reporters what he tells everyone around the rim when he goes up for a rebound:

“I don’t read into false news”, he said blunty.

Anthony’s signature line is the fifth-longest running in league history, behind Michael Jordan (32 models), Kobe Bryant (17), LeBron James (15) and Allen Iverson (14).

Strangely, the news comes after Melo signed a new deal with Jordan Brand just nine months ago.

While sneaker companies rarely discontinue a player’s shoe without letting them go, Melo is set to remain with the iconic company.
