Four Teams Reportedly Eye LeBron James Amid Lakers Future

As LeBron James enters the final year of his deal with the Lakers, the trade chatter around the NBA’s all-time leading scorer is starting to heat up.

Four teams have reportedly contacted Rich Paul to discuss potential trades for James, according to NBA insider Scoop B. The Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers are all said to have shown interest.

At this stage, there is no indication James wants to leave Los Angeles.

But as Scoop B noted, “that doesn’t mean things can’t change later down the road.”

The Warriors scenario is particularly intriguing. A potential deal could involve Jimmy Butler heading to Los Angeles, with Jonathan Kuminga possibly in the mix as well. Pairing LeBron with Steph Curry would instantly become one of the most compelling storylines in league history.

The 40-year-old, has one year and $52 million dollars remaining on his contract.

The Mavericks also loom as a fascinating option given the presence of Luka Doncic. A duo of Doncic and James could immediately elevate Dallas to title contention.

LeBron made an appearance at the Lakers’ Summer League game on Saturday night to watch Bronny James but declined to join ESPN’s broadcast to discuss his future. “I ain’t got nothing to talk about,” he said when declining the invitation.

For now, the Lakers are staying quiet as they prepare for next season with the addition of DeAndre Ayton. But as the offseason unfolds, the LeBron rumors may only get louder.
