The Warriors have provided an update on Steph Curry’s condition after he left the game against the Clippers yesterday and didn’t return.
Curry sustained a peroneal strain in his left foot, the team announced Monday and MRI he undertook revealed no structural damage.
The peroneal tendons are on the outside of the ankle just behind the fibula bone.
The Golden State star will miss the Warriors’ back-to-back with the Pelicans on Tuesday and Wednesday at Chase Center and will be re-evaluated on Friday.
Forward De’Anthony Melton was also injured in the same game, suffering a lower strained lower back and will also be re-evaluated on Friday.
Of course, Steph has dealt with plenty of ankle injuries in his career, but the fact that he is being re-evaluated in the same week as injury seems like a positive sign .
The 36-year-old suffered the injury in the second half of the Warriors’ 112-104 loss to the Clippers Sunday night at Chase Center.
He suffered the injury late in the third and then came back into the game less than four minutes into the fourth quarter.
On his first play back in the game, he re-aggravated the injury and needed help heading back into the tunnel and the locker room.

Even if it’s for a short time, not having their best offensive player available presents a problem for the Warriors.
It places a lot of pressure on other players and without Melton, that pressure is further increased.
However, once Steph left the court yesterday, Andrew Wiggins stepped up and scored 29 points, but the Warriors weren’t able to secure the W.
Prior to the loss, the Warriors were 2-0 to start the 2024-25 NBA season and went undefeated in the preseason.
