NBA players get to know the staff at their home venues pretty well so it’s not uncommon for them to ask a player for an injury update.
According to a man with great hearing – ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, this is exactly what happened at Crypto.com arena yesterday as a staff member asked LeBron when he will return to the court.
McMenamin heard LeBron respond with “playoffs, for sure” as he was leaving the arena.
McMenamin also revealed on NBA Today that 38-year-old LeBron will most likely have his right foot injury re-evaluated on Thursday, three and a half weeks after the injury occurred.
As well, Lakers coach Darvin Ham provided a positive update on James’ progress yesterday, telling reporters “We anticipate him coming back at some point (this season).”
James has missed LAL’s last 11 games, six of which they have won.
Crowd favorite Austin Reaves helped lead the team to their latest 111-105 victory over Orlando and in their past ten games they have had five different players score 24 points or more.
“I think Bron, him being out has revealed that we have a lot of different weapons that are very capable players on both sides of the ball that can help us achieve the goal that we’re trying to achieve,” Ham said. “And when he comes back, he’s just going to add to it.”
Having James back on the court as soon as possible is of huge significance to the purple and gold, so let’s hope the team can continue to improve their 35-37 record until then.
