Leading NBA draft analyst Jonathan Givony of ESPN has explained why he is projecting Bronny James to be picked in the top 10 of the 2024 NBA Draft.
The projection stems from Bronny’s rapid improvement and his weak draft class.
“This is a very underwhelming high school class, one of the worst I have seen in the last 20 years,” Givoney said. “But Bronny James is improving at a rate I haven’t seen from any player in this class. I have been watching him since he was a freshman in high school and every time I see him, he’s a little bit bigger, a little bit stronger, a little bit more explosive, his shooting has improved, his ballhandling is getting better. He’s a tremendous teammate.”

Just don’t expect him to be an All-NBA level player.
“We’re not talking about a guy who’s going to be an All-Star in my opinion like his father,” Givony continued. “You’re looking at a De’Anthony Melton, Marcus Smart, best case a Jrue Holiday-type player. A phenomenal role player, who impacts winning at the highest level.”
Bronny has been widely praised for his unselfishness, and recently LeBron James said his son could score 30 points per game if he wasn’t such a team-focused player.
“Bronny plays the game the right way every single night,” James told reporters. “If he wanted to he could shoot 20 shots a game and average 30 but its not about that.”
ESPN’s current projections have Bronny going to the Orlando Magic, a team LeBron once swore he would never play for.
However, it’s very to hard to predict things like this more than a year ahead of time.
