Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown has set a new NBA scoring record for most points scored in under 20 minutes played in the shot clock era (est. 1954-1955).
Brown scored 33 points on 13-20 shooting from the field in 19 minutes of play en route to a 141-103 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

After the game, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens praised Brown’s performance.
“He’s in a great rhythm scoring,” Stevens said.
“He’s making great physical drives, he’s making open catch-and-shoot shots also with really tough shots sprinkled in. He’s constantly working to improve, he doesn’t play passive, and his skill, his aggressiveness, and his improvement are a great combination.”
This season, Brown is averaging 27.3PPG, 5.8RPG, 3.5APG, on 53% shooting from the field, and 43% shooting from three.
Brown is all but assuredly going to make his first all-star team this year, and if he keeps up this level of play, he’ll likely receive all-NBA honors as well.
The Celtics will look to continue rolling behind Brown’s stellar play Monday at 9PM EST against the Chicago Bulls.
