The NBA playoffs will resume tomorrow morning (AEST), after the NBA and NBPA came together to release a statement announcing that the players were working with the league on a number of initiatives surrounding racial inequality and social justice.
The statement, published by NBA commissioner Adam Silver and executive director Michele Roberts stated that they were keen to have action back, but that the push for change was as important as the continuation of the season.
“We look forward to the resumption of the playoffs and continuing to work together — in Orlando and in all NBA team markets — to push for meaningful and sustainable change.”
Amid a number of commitments made by the NBA and its constituents in the last few days, a social justice coalition will be established (with representation from players and organisation staff).
