The Orlando Magic will be without the services of back-up big man Mo Bamba for the playoffs, after it was announced he would be leaving the Florida bubble to undergo further testing to do with his previous coronavirus diagnosis.
Bamba was initially diagnosed with the illness before the bubble opened (June 11). He then only saw the floor briefly through the Magic’s eight seeding games, as he fell out of the rotation behind Nikola Vucevic and Jonathan Isaac (before his unfortunate injury).
In a press release published by the team’s health department, they said “on the advice of the Magic’s human performance staff and team physicians, Orlando Magic centre Mo Bamba has left the NBA campus for a comprehensive post-coronavirus evaluation.”
Orlando kicks off their first round series against the red-hot Milwaukee Bucks at 3:30am on Wednesday morning (AEST).
