Jaylen Brown is already looking ahead to the next chapter of his NBA career, and the newly acquired Philadelphia 76ers star made it clear that winning is his only priority as he prepares for a fresh start, according to Zach Carey of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Brown reflected on his move from Boston to Philadelphia and admitted the transition has felt surreal after spending the first 10 years of his career with the Celtics, speaking during a Twitch stream on Monday.
“I feel like we just jumped into an alternate timeline,” he said. “We’re in a different dimension. We’re in a parallel universe or something. Whatever universe we’re on, whatever team I’m on, my mindset is to win. So, I’m looking forward to that.”
Brown said his motivation has only grown stronger following the trade.
“At this point in my career, I would say I want to win more than I ever have,” he said. “I’m more inspired to win than anything. I’ve been a little disrespected in this process for whatever reason.
“I want to win more than anything. So, I’m looking forward to that journey, the approach, the leadership, the sacrifice and whatever it’s going to take.”
The four-time All-Star also acknowledged that building chemistry with a roster featuring LeBron James, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey will take time.
“It’s going to take a lot of kind of feeling things out with each other, everybody getting on the same page, constant communication,” Brown said.
Brown also shared a lighthearted story from his offseason, revealing he told James, Embiid, Maxey and VJ Edgecombe that if the Sixers win the 2026-27 NBA championship, they’ll all go skydiving together. James’ response was simple:
“Boy, hell no.”
Brown will officially be introduced by the Sixers later this week before throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Phillies’ game. Looking ahead to his arrival in Philadelphia, he added:
“Looking forward to that, looking forward to going to the Phillies game,” Brown said. “It’s definitely a major transition in my career, a major transition in my life.
“I’m super excited. Philadelphia, let’s get it. Throw the ball up.”
