Draymond Green Calls Out Santi Aldama for ‘Clownish’ Antics

Draymond Green has never been one to hold back, and his latest podcast episode proved it once again.

Following Golden State’s win over Memphis, the Warriors forward went in on Grizzlies big man Santi Aldama for what he called “sucka” and “clownish” behavior during their fiery third-quarter exchange at Chase Center.

With 3:51 left in the third, Green fouled Aldama under the basket after turning the ball over at midcourt, resulting in a Flagrant-1.

Aldama then missed both free throws, and Green celebrated by skipping around the paint, clearly enjoying the moment.

“He’s a guy who always talks, every time we play them he talks, he likes to mix it up a bit,” Green said on The Draymond Green Show. “I’m all for mixing it up a bit, but what I don’t like is guys that talk and act like they want to mix it up and then you get a little baby foul and you fall out grabbing your neck, grabbing your head like you dead.

“I just disagree with fronting like that, because even if you get the call he did … it’s almost like you sold your soul for two free throws. You just laying out on the floor, rollin’ out like you dead. Just to get up and walk to the bench and walk to the free throw line.”

The outspoken veteran didn’t stop there, taking a personal shot at Aldama’s reaction.

“What happens is you lose all respect,” Green said. “So now you a sucka, and we can’t un-sucka you because you just acted like a complete clown because you listening to some dumba– coach who telling you ‘If he foul, you sell it.’ But now you gotta play while everyone looking at you like a sucka. And that brother went from a plus-15 to ending the game at a plus-two after he did that sucka s–t.

“And so, I always tell guys, ‘Hey man, don’t ever play like you a sucka, because once you play like a sucka, guess what you are … you a sucka and there ain’t no un-sucka’ing you either.'”
