Chris Paul Leaves Door Open for One More Season After 2025-26

Paul (3)

For months, the expectation has been that Chris Paul and his upcoming season with the Clippers would be his last.

CP3 himself even said so himself so in early July.

When he was asked how much longer he planned to play, he said, “At the most, a year.”

But that might not be the case after all.

The 40-year-old “isn’t ruling out playing beyond the 2025-26 season,” ESPN’s Malika Andrews revealed.

Paul didn’t shut the door on continuing his career past this coming season.

“You’ve said this in so many words, but I just want to be crystal clear. Yeah. Is this 2025-2026 season your last?” Andrews asked in a sit down interview.

Paul responded, “I don’t know. I know that. I think throughout this season, at some point, guys that I know who’ve retired and all this different size stuff, you know, and you sort of figure it out yourself. It tells you. But I think more than anything this season, I will definitely enjoy it. I don’t take this for granted. I’ve been wanting to get back with my family for a while. And so to now have that opportunity, this was not a definite. This is not something that always comes around. So I approach it, and I know I keep saying it, with so much gratitude and want to enjoy it. As you get older, like I said, perspective, you realize what’s really important. And being there for my friends and family after the game, right. You know, this game is so emotional. We take all of that with us, but I’m most looking forward to win or lose that game. I get to go sit and be dad every now and then at my kids’ games.”
