Steph Curry Shuts Down Doubters Over Warriors’ Ageing Roster

Steph Curry is tuning out all the noise surrounding the Warriors’ quiet offseason and the growing skepticism about their aging core.

The four-time NBA champion made it clear he’s not losing sleep over the lack of moves from Golden State’s front office.

“The narrative outside versus the narrative inside might not always be the same,” Curry told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole. “We talk. We have communication. I know what’s going on to the point where I have a lot of confidence in our ability to put together a winning team next year. That’s all I want.”

The Warriors are dealing with major roster questions after the departure of Kevon Looney, plus Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency.

But Steph doesn’t see it that way.

“We did a really good job of it forward the end of last year,” Curry said. “Got to roll it back. And everybody has to be their best self through every role throughout the organization.”

The 37-year-old also addressed critics claiming the Warriors are too old to contend for a title in 2026.

“We’ve heard it for even before the ‘22 championship,” Curry said. “We heard it, so to the point like it’s all it all comes down to health. I mean, if you look at every team . . . [Oklahoma City] had a relatively healthy run. And that’s what you need. Like, vets get through a regular season. Try to be in a position where we’re not chasing anything down the stretch.”

Curry’s belief in his team is unwavering and confirmed the doubters aren’t what motivates him.

“At this point? It is white noise because I’m self-motivated enough,” Steph said. “I don’t really need any outside motivation to the point where, like, I still love to play the game. And if I have that and I have great teammates and I have a great culture and organization, then I can just be in that space. I don’t really need any outside noise to motivate me.”
