LeBron James sparked a firestorm on social media this week after photos surfaced of him training at the Cleveland Cavaliers’ facility.
But The King was quick to put the rumors to rest in classic LeBron fashion.
“And every summer since it was built,” James responded on X to a post from @TheHoopCentral showing him in the Cavs’ gym. “I live here still and train every summer. Got damn y’all bored man! Go get a plate of food somewhere and enjoy the 4th of July!”

The 40-year-old’s fiery response comes just days after he opted into the final year of his $52.6 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.
His agent, Rich Paul, recently reminded everyone of James’ priorities as he nears the end of his legendary career.
“LeBron wants to compete for a championship,” Paul told ESPN. “He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all. We are very appreciative of the partnership that we’ve had for eight years with Jeanie [Buss] and Rob [Pelinka] and consider the Lakers as a critical part of his career. We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what’s best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what’s best for him.”
Even with LeBron’s attempt to cool things down, the speculation around his future is unlikely to stop. His no-trade clause gives him full control, and his workouts in Cleveland – where he still owns a home – will only add fuel to the conversation.
For now, James has made it clear he’s just following his usual offseason routine. Whether that changes in the months ahead remains to be seen.
