The Lakers have been bumped in the first round by the Timberwolves and the NBA internet has some opinions.
Minnesota defeated LA 103-96 in Game 5 to win the series 4-1.
Rudy Gobert decided to have the best game of his life, dropping a playoff career high in points and rebounds (27 & 24), to go with two blocks and 80 percent shooting from the field in 39 minutes. The Lakers played a small lineup and Rudy made them pay.
Luka Doncic tried his best, but surprise surprise, he got injured. He went down after a hard foul and hurt his back just before halftime. He clearly wasn’t 100 percent, but still managed to record 28 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and one steal. While LeBron – though missed some crucial shots late in the fourth.
LA’s third option, Austin Reaves also missed a number of important shots and ended the game with just 12 points and six turnovers.
“I just needed to be better. I wasn’t and I can’t go back and start the series over,” Reaves said.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick had this to say after the game:
“We tried to make it work with what we had and came up short. I know I can get better… and I will get better.”
