The Craziest NBA Trade Rumors Out There as Deadline Looms

As the trade deadline is less than 48 hours away, there have been SOME WILD rumors afoot.

The Athletic is reporting that the Mavs have big dreams to bring together some of the biggest stars in the league at Dallas.

“League sources say the Dallas Mavericks, fresh off their Luka Dončić-for-Anthony Davis swap that sent shockwaves through the Association, have dreams of adding Durant to their Davis-Kyrie Irving-led group,” the story said. “While the likelihood of Dallas pulling this off now appears unlikely, the mere idea of Durant joining Dallas’ star-studded group sheds new light on the thinking of Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison after he was roundly ridiculed for the Dončić deal. Whether it’s Durant (now or later), or perhaps even the Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James in the summer if he were to decline his player option for next season, the 52-year-old Harrison appears to be targeting big-time stars with whom he’s very familiar from his past life as a top Nike executive. The goal, of course, is to win a championship as soon as possible.”

Kevin Durant being moved has gained steam over the last 24 hours, and naturally, it seems as though the Mavs aren’t the only ones dreaming.

The Athletic are reporting that Warriors, Heat, and Suns have discussed a trade that would send Andrew Wiggins to the Heat and Jimmy Butler to the Suns.

A Warriors homecoming for KD would be seriously huge, but so would his contract and the amount of pieces the Warriors would need to kiss goodbye in order for it to happen.

However, they may just be willing to do that, since forward Draymond Green “is among the Warriors players Phoenix is known to covet,” The Athletic says.

Phoenix also “have a level of interest in Jonathan Kuminga, according to Jake Fischer.

This also isn’t the first time a Wiggins to the Heat has been floated apparently.

The Heat were actually willing to trade Jimmy Butler for Andrew Wiggins and draft picks before Butler shut down the deal, Brian Windhorst reports.

“I think Miami was willing to do that deal for Butler. Let’s see if by Thursday that gets revisited,” Windhorst said.

In other trade news, a Kyle Kuzma for Khris Middleton trade is getting “close”, Steve Bulpett reports.
