The Cleveland Cavaliers may have surprised everyone last week when they beat Oklahoma City Thunder, but it didn’t OKC long to exact revenge.
The Thunder absolutely embarrassed the Cavs on Thursday night almost from tip off and ended the game with a 134-114 victory.
Shai-Gilgeous Alexander led a 22-2 RUN to end the first quarter for the Thunder and things didn’t get any better for the Cavs from there.
SGA scored 40 PTS, 3 REB, 8 AST, 2 STL, 65% FG in THREE QUARTERS and OKC were up by 38 points headed into the fourth.
The scary part is, OKC are still without big men Isaiah Hartenstein and Chet Holmgren.
The internet is acting accordingly, with the best reactions below.
OKC took that loss last week very personal! Sheesh!

The Thunder don’t have either big – Chet or Hartenstein – yet against the Mobley-Allen Cavs THEY’RE UP 75-49 AT HALF! OKC IS GOING TO WIN THE WEST. SGA MVP.

It’s crazy to think that the best team in OKC Thunder franchise history might be a team that didn’t have Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, or James Harden.

If I owned an NBA team I’d send Sam Presti a blank check, tell him to fill in the zeros and stay out of his way. What Oklahoma City has built — and the draft capital it has to keep building — is truly remarkable.

The OKC Thunder have now won 19 of their last 20 games and move to 34-6 on the season.
Since it was such a blowout, some of the Thunder’s lesser known players got to have a run, like Adam Flagler.
But not everyone could have a night like Shai.
Thunder Players With 8+ 3-point Attempts in a Quarter
Carmelo Anthony: Jan 15, 2018 3Q – 3 for 8
Paul George: Jan 5, 2017 3Q – 4 for 8
Adam Flagler: Jan 16, 2025 4Q – 0 for 8
Flagler went 0-8 from 3, which might be a Thunder record that stands forever.
SGA just keeps cementing his MVP status.
