Charles Barkley Unleashes on Lakers For Handling of Bronny James

NBA legend Charles Barkley is the latest to criticize the NBA’s handling of LeBron James’ son Bronny James.

The Lakers have decided to let Bronny play for the South Bay Lakers – the team’s G-League affiliate for home games and then name him in the Lakers squad when the development team is on the road.

Barkley labelled the decision ‘awful’ when talking about Bronny’s development and what’s best for him.

“The kid is not ready to play in the NBA. He should be in the G-League so he can play basketball,” Barkley said during an appearance on The Bettor Angle recently.

“And also, this thing where he’s only gonna play homes games. It’s stupid, it’s not fair to him. It’s not fair to the team. Can you imagine the coach of that team? You come off a road trip and you have a player you haven’t seen in a week or two. And then you probably feel like you gotta play him,” he continued. “I don’t think they are doing Bronny any favors. They have just handled this thing very bad. It’s a bad look for the Lakers. I really like everything LeBron has done. But it’s a bad look for him [too], in my opinion.”

Despite this interesting set up, Bronny’s time in the NBA has been very limited. He’s participated in six games, where he’s logged a total of 16 minutes, going 1-6 from the field, to go along with six assists, five rebounds and three steals.

No doubt the NBA world and it’s media personalities will continue to have varying opinions about the Bronny / LeBron situation.

There are even rumors about that LeBron will wait until his younger son Bryce gets drafted so he can play with both his sons in the NBA.
