Ja Morant Reacts to Heated Exchanges With LeBron During Grizzlies’ Win

Morant

Ja Morant didn’t care that he was playing one of the league’s greatest in LeBron James, and even taunted him and his teammates in the Grizzlies’ win over the Lakers.

In the first half, things got heated between Ja and Bron. It started when Morant nailed his shot and hit Gabe Vincent with the “too small”.

LeBron wasted no time heading up the other end. He backed Ja down in the post and powered through him to get the two.

Morant fell the ground and James hit him back with the “too small” and slapped the court.

Things didn’t end there though, because just 20 seconds later, Morant outran the entire Lakers team and got a running floater off the glass.

When play stopped he shoved LeBron and got a tech foul for it.

The Memphis star was asked about his exchanges with LeBron after the game.

“I mean, I think I did the too small to somebody who was too small, he [LeBron] came back and did it respectfully,” Ja told the media, via Avery Braxton. “He’s 6’8, whatever, I wasn’t expecting it. I thought it was a charge. He did it and I don’t back down from nobody. Don’t care who you are, my job was just to come back. I got my bucket, you know, I set the tone. My teammates fed off it and you see what happens, so. Top dawg in our league. You take out the top dawg, who else you fear?”

Not long after in the same lockeroom interview, a reporter then asked Ja, “What is it about this Laker team..?” and before he could finish Ja said, “I don’t like ’em. They knocked me out of the playoffs and then last year we had a game they came here and popped it on our home floor when I was in street clothes, so.”

LeBron had nothing but praise for the 25-year-old after the loss.

“The energy alone, the inspiration that he gives to the younger generation alone was huge for our league and it’s great to have him back out there for sure,” he said of Morant.

Memphis’ loss was somewhat marred by the fact that Ja picked up a hamstring injury
