JJ Redick Reacts to Being Caught Watching Game Film at Car Wash

Redick

If you’re a Lakers fan, you have got to love the level of dedication by new coach JJ Redick, who was caught at the carwash watching film on the Kings.

Ahead of the team’s back-to-back against the Kings on Saturday, former NBA stars Baron Davis took to social media to share an encounter he had.

“Just ran into@jj_redick at the Car Wash. he had the Laptop watching film!!!! Players coach!!! Lakers in great hands !! #dedication, ” Baron said on X.

Before an impressive win 131-127 win over Sacramento, Redick did corroborate Baron’s story that he was definitely watching some defensive film on the opponents.

He also explained he knew of the social media post as Lakers spokesperson told him.

“It’s the circumstance of the back-to-back,” he said, when asked how common it is for him to watch game film in public. “Basically, I spent last night and this morning on tying the bow from last night’s game and a little bit looking forward to today. This morning, it was no different.”

He said his two sons had basketball games in the afternoon and the car wash was next door, so it seemed like a logical solution.

“Very efficient use of time,” Redick added. “I watch a lot of film, but that’s not normal, no. Thanks, Baron.”

Say what you will about the inexperience of the new Lakers coach, but he is now 3-0 to start the season after defeating the Timberwolves, Kings and Suns.
