Udonis Haslem Defends Bronny James Amid Former No.1 Pick’s Criticisms

Miami Heat legend Udonis Haslem has given Bronny James quite the compliment right after he copped some flack from Kwame Brown.

Bronny has been a major point of discussion following his mixed Summer League debut, but Udonis has been impressed with the way Bronny has handled himself.

“He’s done a great job of just quieting the noise & focusing on the things he can control,” Haslem said on The OGs Show. “When he speaks, he talks about being a Jrue Holiday type of guy. He can come in, and make an impact like that.”

Not a bad comparison, considering Holiday is a two-time NBA champion, two-time All-Star and a two-time Olympic Gold Medallist.

Bronny was under scrutiny from former No. 1 overall draft pick Brown just one day earlier, who thinks LeBron’s son has a lot to learn about the NBA, otherwise he will just ‘fizzle out’.

”But I see a guy who’s athletic that needs to learn how to cut and slash more until he gets more comfortable with shooting,” Brown said on a since-deleted episode of the Swish Cultures podcast. “If he doesn’t learn how to play the point guard, I don’t think he’s as strong as David Wesley. At his size — 6’1, 6’2 — he’s the only guy that I’ve seen who could play that spot at the two. If he doesn’t learn how to bring the ball up, he’s going to be a poor man’s Juan Dixon. I think he’ll bounce around. His daddy has enough power with Klutch Sports to keep him in the league, but after that, if he doesn’t learn how to play point, he’s gonna fizzle out.”

Everyone in the NBA community has their opinions about Bronny, but until he actually takes the court, there’s no telling what will happen.
