Rudy Gobert Responds to Shaq’s WOAT Player Comments

Gobert

The Rudy Gobert and Shaq beef has been stirred up once again after Shaq made some wild comments about the Timberwolves big man.

The Lakers legend recently appeared on a video for Complex, where he was asked who the WOAT player of the NBA is – worst player of all time.

He answered without much hesitation, “Rudy Gobert”.

Shaq went on to explain why.

“If you sign a contract for [$250 million], show me you’re 250,” Shaq said. “There’s a reason why I walk funny and why I can’t turn my neck and why I can’t do it because I played for my [$120 million]. So you got guys like him that f*** the system over and they’re making all this money and they can’t f**ing play. So I don’t respect guys like that.”

Shaq added, “Every time I make these comments, people think I’m hating, but these are facts. You’ve got teachers, firemen, and doctors who have real jobs and don’t get paid much.”

Gobert himself must have seen the viral comments and took to X to respond.

“It is sad to see someone that has accomplished as much as you did @SHAQ both in sport and business still be triggered by another man’s finances and accomplishments. I get the entertainment part but unlike other folks, you don’t need that stuff to stay relevant.”

O’Neal has long criticised Rudy in the media. Which seems to have started around 2020, when the center signed a five-year $205 million contract.

Shaq seems to think that Gobert doesn’t work hard for his money and claimed in a March episode of his podcast that if he was 42, he’d be making “Rudy Gobert money”.

The big man hasn’t been the only one to make fun of Gobert over the years. Draymond Green is another player who has been merciless with the Frenchman and even went as far as choking him out on the court.
