PG-13 Calls Out Anthony Edwards For ‘Disrespectful’ Comments

Edwards

Paul George has been the latest NBA player in the media to weigh in on Anthony Edwards’ wild comments about past NBA players.

In case you missed it, this is what Edwards said:

“I didn’t watch it back in the day so I can’t speak on it,” Edwards told Wall Street Journal. “They say it was tougher back then than it is now, but I don’t think anybody had skill back then. (Michael Jordan) was the only one that really had skill, you know what I mean? So that’s why when they saw Kobe (Bryant), they were like, ‘Oh, my God.’ But now everybody has skill.”

Many people were pretty unhappy with Ant’s take, including Magic Johnson and Kevin Garnett.

Now, the newest 76ers recruit has spoken out about Edwards’ comments.

“I thought it was kind of disrespectful to the game,” George said on his self-titled podcast Podcast P with Paul George. “I thought it was a very immature comment. Obviously, Anthony Edwards is super talented and is a huge talent going forward. But, just how much the game has grown and how far – you gotta pay dues to those dudes that did it before us.”

Ant is known for his outspokenness and as we have seen in the past, he certainly likes to keep it honest.

Celtics champion and Team USA gold medallist Jrue Holiday recently revealed that Ant was the biggest trash talker on the team in Paris, despite KD being on the team.

“Anthony Edwards, 100 percent, 100 percent,” Holiday said. “He’s a great player and you’ll see him trash-talking for a very, very long time.”

At 23 years of age, Edwards is well aware he has the world at his feet.

He was the catalyst in the Wolves’ playoff run last season, where he averaged 27.6 points, seven rebounds and 6.5 assists in 16 games.
