Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss Gives Insight Into Bronny James’ Potential

There has been a huge amount of chatter surrounding Bronny James’ ceiling and Lakers owner Jeanie Buss is the latest to speak about how far she thinks LeBron’s son can go in the league.

Bronny had a pretty rough start to his NBA campaign, after logging some terrible shooting games during Summer League

After averaging just 4.3 points per game on 23 percent shooting over his first four games (including the California Classic), Bronny averaged 12.5 points per game on 48 percent shooting in his last two games.

The media scrutiny surrounding the teenager has been immense, but Buss thinks he just needs a fair opportunity for people to see what he can do on the court.

“We have to let the kid have an opportunity to play and prove that he should be in a Laker uniform,” Buss said on AM 570 LA Sports this week.

“Everything that we’ve seen from him and about him and his work ethic, just some of the things he’s had to overcome being the son of a big star. He works hard, he’s dedicated. He really wants to do this. And if we can have a roster of players with that same mentality, then I think the sky is the limit.”

Despite one disgruntled anonymous member of the Lakers’ squad claiming that Bronny received ‘special treatment’ during Sumer League, many players have said otherwise.

The latest being Pacers guard Kyle Mangas, who was with the Lakers during Summer League.

“He’s a super nice guy, he’s quiet, he’s pretty laid back,” Mangas said of James on the Locked on Pacers podcast. “He’s a hard worker. …There’s so much media surrounding him,” Mangas said. “We would get off the bus at our hotel, and there’d be 250 people waiting for him to get off just to film and walk into the hotel. You’ve got to feel for a kid like that, there’s just a lot of pressure and publicity, and that’s hard to get away from sometimes. [I] think he handled it pretty well from what I saw.”
