Steph Curry Details What It’s Like Being Teammates With LeBron for First Time

Steph Curry and LeBron James have always been rivals on the court, but for the first time ever, the pair are teaming up to try and win gold for Team USA at the Paris Olympics.

Much like every NBA fan, it still doesn’t feel real to Curry having LeBron on his side for once.

“Having LeBron as a teammate is like surreal because you have so many battles back and forth,” Curry told Yahoo Sports. “You admire his game, you know what he’s about and to see the work up close and personal every day, to see how he prepares, how he talks and practices. I’ve never had that vantage point of him.

“So, just excited to see how our games complement each other and, and, you know, build that chemistry that’s gonna help lead this team.”

The four-time Warriors champion then delved into how he and LeBron’s relationship has evolved, a relationship which began in their NCAA days.

“The relationship started out great at the beginning not to say it was bad at any point, but it was great when I was in the NCAA’s,” Curry explained.

“…And you know, you’re gonna have some, some bad blood out there, but through it all, I’m a firm believer you can be competitive, you can have that killer instinct and see blood on the other side, but still have the utmost respect for who you’re playing against.

“And that’s the ultimate compliment for a guy like Bron who’s always pushed the bar, you know, higher and higher with everything that he’s done.

“So to now be in a situation where we’re still in the same conference, they beat us in the playoffs last year and like there’s still that competition, but I can fully enjoy this experience and get to know him at a much deeper level as teammates.

“And, I think that’s what we both deserve at this stage in our career. It is pretty dope.”
