Paul George Shades the Clippers Following Departure

George

It seemed like a fairly amicable parting of ways when Paul George left the Clippers to sign with the 76ers, but he has since taken a shot at his former team.

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer spoke candidly just this week about how much he hated to see Paul enter free agency.

But George has since admitted how tough it was playing for what he deemed to be LA’s ‘B Team’.

“I think initially, coming back to LA that was home,” George said on Podcast P with Paul George. “But it’s not the same love. Because when I was in LA, they said, ‘You should’ve been a Laker.’ That’s all I was hearing. It wasn’t no welcome to the Clippers. We happy you’re in LA, but you should have been a Laker. I’m on the B team, that’s how the vibe and the love felt.”

PG-13 sure seems happy to be joining a one-team town.

Especially since he gets to chase his first championship alongside Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.

“I’ve always been a fan of Tyrese and Joel from afar and Joel has secretly been one of my closest All-Star Game friends.”

“…It kind of felt inevitable that at some point we would link up and be teammates,” he admits. “So, I’m all-in… I’m excited. I’m looking forward to this next opportunity.”

George even thinks he can help Embiid with his health.

“I think I can kind of help [Embiid] get through a season healthy,” George said. “And again, it’s just not putting so much pressure on him. Regardless of how good you feel, I think pressure causes a lot of injuries as well, and you think you have to get overplayed, you have to touch every possession, that kind of just wears you down, especially for how physical he is.”
