The Biggest NBA Trade Rumors Right Now

Trade Rumors

Free agency is getting closer and there are some pretty interesting trade rumors floating around at the moment with some big name players.

Let’s get into it!

PAUL GEORGE

Paul George is one of the hottest free agents of the summer, which means the trade rumors surrounding him are relentless.

Multiple insiders, including Marc Stein are reporting that George will opt in with the Clippers and force a trade.

“There is a growing feeling leaguewide that the 34-year-old picking up his $48.8 million player option for next season to force the Clippers to trade him is an increasingly realistic scenario after months of fruitless contract extension negotiations between the parties,” Stein reported.

Stein suggested the Warriors and Knicks as potential suitors for PG-13.

Golden State might be more interested than New York and could even orchestrate a multi-team trade to secure the LAC forward.

NBA reporter Brett Siegel said to “Keep a very close eye on the Warriors regarding Paul George if Klay Thompson is to leave.”

JIMMY BUTLER

Over the past few days, the trade chatter around Jimmy Butler is growing louder and louder, with The Ringer’s Howard Bec recently declaring, “Jimmy Butler will be traded”.

Houston is the latest suitor for Butler, according to ESPN‘s Jonathan Givony.

“The Rockets are clearly in win-now mode and would love to add star power to their roster, with players such as Kevin Durant, Jimmy Butler, Mikal Bridges and Brandon Ingram as well as role players including Brook Lopez and Marcus Smart being some that other teams say the Rockets could have interest in targeting (with some names more far-fetched than others),” Givony said.

B/R’s Greg Swartz also named the Grizzlies a “surprise landing spot” for the 35-year-old Miami star.

CHRIS PAUL

In his 19th season in the league, Chris Paul is still generating a lot of interest on the trade market.

The Warriors could waive him before the June 28 deadline, or choose to use him as a trade piece to land a big name player to pair with Steph Curry.

If he was to become a free agent, CP3 would reportedly “draw interest from the Clippers as well as the Lakers”, Stein says.
