Anthony Edwards Reacts to Mavs Crushing Wolves in Game 5

Anthony Edwards has suggested his disappointment from losing in the Western Conference Finals stems from feeling his team never reached their potential against the Dallas Mavericks.

“We never clicked all together as a team in this series, not even one game,” Edwards said. “The last two series, we were all clicking at one time, making shots and stuff. It wasn’t clicking at one time here.”

Despite his disappointment, Edwards had an optimistic outlook for his team, saying, “We’ll be back next year.”

“It’s fun man I love it,” he said. “… I’m looking forward to being right back in this situation next year.”

After having a breakout postseason over the first two rounds, Edwards was no match for Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks in the conference finals.

Doncic and Irving poured in 36 points each as Dallas ran away with a 124-103 win to close out the series in five games.

“We got a great team, but most importantly we have great guys,” Doncic said postgame. “We stay together, and we just play basketball.”

The Mavericks are now heading to the NBA Finals, where they will face the Boston Celtics.

“As a kid that’s what you dream of; getting to The Finals and being able to play against the best of the best with the whole world watching,” Irving said.

Game 1 of The Finals tips off in Boston on June 6.
